Job Title: Legal Assistant
Location: Toms River, NJ

Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $40000 - $50000 annually
Contractor Work Model: Onsite
Hours: 8 am to 4:30 pm, Monday-Thursday,  8 am to 12:00 pm Friday
Salary:  40K-50K

Job Summary:  We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Administrative Assistant to support our busy legal office. This entry-level position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, professional, and eager to learn the inner workings of a legal practice. Legal experience is not required — we will provide on-the-job training for the right candidate.

Job Duties:

• Greet clients and visitors in a professional manner
• Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, and respond to general inquiries
• Schedule appointments and manage calendars for attorneys and staff
• Maintain organized physical and digital filing systems
• Prepare and format documents, correspondence, and basic legal forms under supervision
• Assist with client intake, including gathering basic information and documentation
• Handle incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries
• Support attorneys and legal staff with administrative tasks as needed
• Learn and grow into basic legal assistant responsibilities over time
  

Job Responsibilities: 

• Strong computer skills including use of Microsoft Word, Case Management Software, Adobe and Outlook
• Excellent organizational skills
• Detail oriented and ability to multi-task
• Sound judgment and decision-making skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels and ability to influence and achieve successful results
• Strong verbal and writing skills
• Strong work ethic and team player
• Excellent attendance history
