Overview

We are seeking an experienced and skilled General Manager to join our team. The General Manager will report directly to the owner of Mister Tiger. In this role, you are responsible for leading and managing the Front of House operations and team. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain full knowledge of our food, beverage menu, and steps of service
  • Manage the FOH team, including hiring, onboarding, scheduling, training, and performance management
  • Ensure compliance with all employee policies outlined in the employee handbook
  • Oversee floor operations, including guest interaction, food running, staff supervision, and door management
  • Manage all operational platforms including OpenTable, Toast POS, Sling, Gmail, and others
  • Execute opening duties such as restaurant walk-throughs, checking emails, leading pre-shift meetings, and addressing service needs
  • Handle closing duties, including daily recaps, bank reconciliation, and final walk-through
  • Support employee development through training, 1:1s, coaching, and discipline
  • Run the reservation book and manage the door as needed
  • Attend and contribute to regular management meetings
  • Communicate clearly with both guests and staff
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations
  • Address guest inquiries, complaints, and feedback to ensure satisfaction
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive profitability and enhance the guest experience
  • Build strong relationships with vendors and suppliers
  • Support marketing and promotional initiatives alongside the leadership team
  • Analyze performance metrics and prepare reports for senior management
  • Stay proactive in addressing industry challenges and opportunities
  • Managing all operating systems: Including but limited to; OpenTable, Toast POS, Sling, GMAIL, and more. 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of restaurant management experience in a high-volume, excellence-driven environment
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • "Customer-obsessed" approach to service
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Familiarity with Korean cuisine is a plus (but not required)
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • All relevant Chicago Food certifications and training
