Reports to: School Based Health Center Program Medical Director, Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center
Primary Purpose:
The Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center (“MSAHC” or the “Center”) works to provide health care and wellness for young people by providing vital services - high quality, comprehensive, integrated and confidential - for all who come to the Center or School Based health facilities, at no cost to them. The MSAHC advances adolescent health as a national imperative by serving as a leading center of clinical care, specialized training, innovative research and advocacy.
The School Based Health Center (“SBHC”) Attending Physician is responsible for providing and overseeing medical services and coordinating day-to-day operations, in collaboration with the School Based Health Center Administrative Practice Manager, in the care and treatment of patients as delineated in the plan of supervision for Nurse Practitioners. This professional will be charged with ensuring that the above functions are developed, managed and delivered within a culture that is youth-centric, high quality, integrated and collaborative as well as in accordance with Mount Sinai’s policies and procedures, New York State regulations and guidelines, and funder expectations.

The School-Based Health Center physician role is primarily clinical in nature, but Adolescent Medicine physicians who serve as SBHC physicians are also part of the Adolescent Medicine faculty and as such have additional duties including those, which can lead to academic promotion and preparation for leadership roles.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: MD Degree with Board Eligible/Certification in Pediatrics or Family Medicine or Adolescent Medicine.
Experience:
Compensation range from 170K to 190K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)

Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialties, historical productivity, historical collections, and hospital/community need. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range, and in certain circumstances, may wind up being outside of the listed salary range. The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits.
